UCSF Fresno Department of Medicine 2025 Visiting Medical Student Scholar Stipend
Our institution was established to meet the needs of the San Joaquin Valley by training and retaining physicians to provide care in our region. It is our mission to promote health in Central California by providing innovative and excellent patient care while training the next generation of physicians and advancing patient-centered research while serving our culturally diverse and medically underserved patient population. It is our goal to train physicians who reflect the diversity of our surrounding communities.
With that mission and goal in mind, the UCSF Fresno Department of Medicine is excited to offer limited medical student scholar stipends of up to $2000 for eligible students. These stipends are intended to help students by reducing the costs related to clerkship travel, application/tuition fees, and housing expenses.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be entering your final year of medical school (graduating 2026)
- Plan to pursue a career in Internal Medicine
- Be in good academic standing
- Complete our online application for IM sub-internship. International, offshore, and non-LCME students must first apply through our UME office by emailing [email protected]
Requirements for the UCSF Fresno’ clinical electives must also be met.

Applications for the 2025-2026 program year will open March 17, 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and be accepted on a rolling basis. We encourage you to apply early.
