- This Tutorial was developed by the UC San Diego Human Subjects Protection Program and has been made available to the research community at all the UC Medical Centers. It is targeted to research investigators though anyone interested may complete this module. You will be able to download a certificate of completion after you
- complete the module.
- HIPAA Research Training Module: This module is targeted for research staff, coordinators, and administrators, as well as research investigators who need to know the CHR procedures. A certificate of completion is not available at this time.

Mandatory Online Training Program Requirement for all Key Research Personnel
Key research personnel including Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators, research staff, research volunteers and any other persons who are listed on study applications are required to complete online research training from the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). The training required for all research personnel is the Human Subjects Protection Training (HSP) and Good Clinical Practice Training (GCP). The training Certificates are valid for 3 years. If the training has been completed, you can go to https://www.citiprogram.org/ and complete the training under association with UCSF. This training must be completed prior to participating in any research activities.
