Allied Health/Advanced Practice Professional Student Clinical Rotations

Overview

UCSF Fresno accepts certain Allied Health Professional (AHP) students for clinical rotations on a limited basis. This includes Physician Assistant (PA) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) students. Placement is dependent on clinical department availability and prior approval.  Other categories of students may also apply if their training programs allow clinical preceptor-student rotations, such as: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) or Certified Nurse Midwife (Midwife)

These rotations may be approved on a limited basis depending on departmental availability.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Physician Assistant (PA) students must be enrolled and in good standing in a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) students must be enrolled and in good standing in an accredited NP program.

  • Other Allied Health Professional students may apply if their programs support clinical preceptor-student rotations.

  • All rotations are subject to department approval and depend on the volume and needs of the clinical service or department.

  • Any questions regarding eligibility or programs, please email: [email protected] and a member of the team will reply.
