Community Regional Medical Center

Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is part of the largest and most comprehensive hospital system in the San Joaquin Valley – Community Medical Centers (CMC). CMC is a nonprofit, locally owned health care system operating four acute-care hospitals, a cancer institute, and other health care facilities.

The Community Regional Medical Center provides inpatient and comprehensive outpatient services to patients of all ages. This 685-bed hospital offers a full range of inpatient services. Special hospital services include the only level I trauma center in the 15,000 square-mile service area between Sacramento and Los Angeles, a regional burn center, and comprehensive cardiovascular services. CRMC has one of the busiest birthing centers in California and the largest level III neonatal intensive care units in the Valley, which allows recovering mothers and critically ill babies to stay together for the treatments they need.

CRMC has a strong partnership with UC San Francisco’s Fresno Medical Education Program. The administrative offices of the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program are located on the CRMC campus.

United Health Centers - ACC

The United Health Centers (UHC) clinic is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) located at the Deran Koligian Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), which borders Community Regional Medical Center and the UCSF Fresno Center. The Family Health Center consists of 15 exam rooms, a gurney room, and a procedure room.  Each examination room is equipped with a computer to allow easy review of labs and other studies with patients. In addition, there is a large resident conference room equipped with several computers and an AV system used for teaching. The Deran Koligian Ambulatory Care Center houses multiple other specialties including OBGYN, pediatrics, internal Medicine, ophthalmology, and dental.  Additional services available at the Deran Koligian Ambulatory Care Center include an urgent care, pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology (x-rays).

Family medicine faculty based at UHC-ACC are quite experienced and have skills in inpatient care, HIV/Hepatitis C management, women’s health, sports medicine, harm reduction, gender affirming care, and research methodology. In addition to core and clinical UCSF Fresno faculty, the residency clinic is staffed with volunteer faculty from the community that regularly precept residents. Many of these preceptors are graduates of the UCSF Fresno FCM program and are in private practice or are practicing in community health centers. They are eager to share information with residents about the many exciting practice options available to family physicians after graduation.
