UCSF Fresno Stipend for Visiting Students

Applications for stipends will reopen in April 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Our institution was established to meet the needs of the San Joaquin Valley by training and retaining physicians to provide care in our region.  It is the mission of the UCSF Fresno medical education program to provide innovative and excellent patient care while training the next generation of physicians and advancing patient-centered research while serving our culturally diverse and medically underserved patient population.  It is our goal to train physicians who reflect the diversity of our surrounding communities. The UCSF Fresno Family & Community Medicine department is excited to offer a visiting student stipend to students who are committed to working with our underserved populations.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this scholarship, you must

  • Be entering your final year of medical school. (graduating 2026)
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Prior to the start of your rotation, Passed Step 1 of the USMLE or Complex.
  • Plan to pursue a residency in Family Medicine.
  • UCSF Fresno Clinical Elective requirements must also be met.

This stipend supports students by reducing the costs related to the clerkship travel, application/tuition fee and housing expenses. Stipend awardees will receive reimbursement for up to $2000.  The stipend application will reopen in April 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year.
