The UCSF Fresno Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship is a one-year OTA-accredited program. We participate in SF Match and take one fellow each year. All applications are handled through their website.

Application Deadline: November 1

Interviews will be held during the months of February or March.

Applicants selected to interview will receive a Notice of Employment Eligibility Requirements at UCSF Fresno via DocuSign prior to your interview.

Minimum Employment Requirements

To be eligible for a residency/fellowship appointment contract with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, all current or expected trainees must possess one of the following for the duration of their  anticipated years of training:

  • be a United States citizen
  • be in possession of a green card
  • be in possession of an EAD (work permit)
  • possess an ECFMG –sponsored J-1 visa

UCSF Fresno doesn’t generally sponsor H-1B visas, please contact individual programs regarding their policy on H-1B visa sponsorship.

Additional Information for International Medical Graduates

The University of California requires that all residents be citizens of the United States, be in possession of a green card, or possess an ECFMG-sponsored J-1 visa. 

California Medical License / Fluroscopy Permit

All fellows must obtain a full and unrestricted California medical license. Medical Board of California licensing requirements can be found here: https://www.mbc.ca.gov/Applicants/; Osteopathic Medical Board of California licensing requirements can be found here: https://www.ombc.ca.gov/licensees/

Fellows must also obtain a full and unrestricted Fluroscopy Permit. Information can be found on the CDPH website.

Background Checks

UCSF Fresno is committed to selecting and hiring the most capable housestaff in order to pursue its strategic goals of excellence in teaching, learning, research, scholarship, creative activity and service to the community. All offers of appointment to UCSF Fresno sponsored GME programs are specifically conditioned upon a criminal background investigation. Background checks will be carried out by an agency on behalf of UCSF Fresno Graduate Medical Education Office. By signing the background check release form, prospective trainees are consenting to a background investigation.
