WORKER'S COMP GUIDELINES
FORMS

Forms Due: April 4, 2025

You should expect to receive a personalized email from MedHub, which will include your Contract and any other required forms for your completion.  Once you receive the email you will need to follow the instructions provided for each item.  Please be sure to complete all of the documents using your legal name as indicated on your Social Security Card.

CERTIFICATIONS

Certifications Due: May 16, 2025
(THIS IS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT)

All incoming house staff are required to take an American Heart Association (AHA) approved ACLS course at their own expense and maintain certification throughout their training. All Pediatric residents must be PALS & NRP certified.  Programs that require additional life support certification(s) will directly notify their house staff.

In-person/Online courses are acceptable, however we will only accept certifications from authorized American Heart Association training centers, so please be careful when selecting your course.  You need to specifically ask if the card issued upon completion will have an official AHA logo on it (Course Card Reference Guide).   We will not accept certification cards that do not have an AHA logo.

AHA approved online courses are available for purchase at onlineaha.org.  After completing the online portion of the course, you must complete a separate hands-on skills session (sold separately) with an AHA Training Center to obtain a course completion card. Contact an AHA Training Center in your area for more details or to schedule a hands-on session.

You must upload unexpired copies of your certification card(s) to MedHub by the May 16th deadline. Current certifications must be valid through 8/31/25 or you’ll need to be recertified. Non-receipt of these certifications will delay your start date.

TRAINING MODULES

Training Modules Due: May 9, 2025

Please complete all training modules referenced in MedHub by the May 9th deadline.

BOOT CAMP

We are eagerly anticipating this year’s “Intern Bootcamp”, especially since we’ve received rave reviews from past participants.

The Intern Bootcamp is for all interns beginning their training at UCSF Fresno.  It’s designed to start your graduate medical education off on the right foot.  All you need to do is bring your excitement and enthusiasm for learning.

You will have the opportunity to get to know your co-interns as you work your way through interactive skills stations led by senior residents and faculty. You can look forward to practicing procedural skills such as central line placement, gowning and gloving, and airway management in a risk free, safe environment. You will also gain practical experience working through case scenarios that you’ll commonly encounter throughout your training.

WHAT TO BRING TO ORIENTATION

You should expect to receive an email prior to orientation from [email protected] requesting you to electronically complete your Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 Form. Please be sure to complete this request prior to your orientation date.

Additionally, it is extremely important that you bring original unexpired documents with you to orientation, which establishes both your Identity and Employment Authorization.

Without original documents you will not be hired and will not start training as planned.
Please refer to the following list of acceptable documents here:
