The UCSF Fresno Orthopaedic Surgery residency program is a five-year ACGME-accredited program. The program matches four PGY-1 residents each year.
The UCSF Fresno Orthopaedic Surgery residency program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). All applications are handled through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Application Requirements: (Program Specific Information)
- Completed ERAS application
- Deans Letter
- 3 letters of recommendations (including program director or surgery chair) OR
3 AOA CORD Standardized Letter of Recommendation Form (SLOR) which may be obtained from the AOA website at http://www.aoassn.org - Medical School Transcripts
- USMLE Step 1 – Minimum score of 230 is recommended, first time pass
- USMLE Step 2 – Strongly recommended.

Interviews for the 2025-2026 academic year will be held in person on January 17 & 18, 2025.
Applicants selected to interview will receive a Notice of Employment Eligibility Requirements at UCSF Fresno via DocuSign prior to your interview.
