Patil Armenian, MD is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology. She completed her medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. Her residency in Emergency Medicine was completed at University of California, San Francisco, Fresno where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She completed a Medical Toxicology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. She helped start the successful inpatient toxicology service at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CA which accepts transfers from all of Central California.
Dr. Armenian's primary focus is in psychedelic safety, which includes both acute and long term effects in patients, collaborations with other researchers, and educating medical professionals and the public. She has published extensively in the identification of drug intoxication outbreaks, including novel drugs of abuse such as fentanyl & fentanyl analogs, novel synthetic opioids, phenethylamines, synthetic cannabinoids, and synthetic cathinones utilizing high resolution liquid chromatography mass spectrometry in the real-time clinical setting. Additional areas of expertise include fentanyl intoxication, stimulant drug use and traumatic injury patterns, and MDMA intoxication and treatment. In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr. Armenian also does expert witness and peer review work in toxicology.
