Why did you choose OBGYN?
I chose OBGYN because it combines the best parts of medicine all into one, fast-paced problem solving, continuity of care with your patients, surgical procedures, and patient advocacy and education. I’ve been interested in OBGYN since I was a child, because my mom would always tell me stories about her going into labor and how supportive her OBGYN was. She was eating an ice cream cone at the beach when her water broke! I’ve also realized that my mother and I have been blessed to live in a healthy home that hasn’t suffered from issues like domestic violence, substance abuse or mental health issues. There are so many women who can’t say the same and OBGYN provides me an avenue to be there for these women.

Why do OBGYN at UCSF Fresno?
UCSF Fresno is a great place to train for OBGYN! As one of the only tertiary care referral centers for miles in either direction, UCSF Fresno sees some of the state’s most complex patients. My goal is to finish my 4 years of residency feeling confident in my medical management and surgical skills, and I know UCSF Fresno will provide the exposure I need to get me there. Only being a 2.5 hour drive from home in the Bay Area, but getting to enjoy the low cost of living in Fresno is just another perk!

Hobbies/Facts/Interest
If eating is a hobby, then I pick that first! I love getting together with friends to try out a new restaurant or trying out a new recipe at home! I was part of a hip hop team at UC Davis and am looking forward to taking dance classes in Fresno when I can! I’ve recently gotten into hiking and running, so I’m hoping to get to visit Yosemite and the local trails soon. I got into yoga in medical school as a way to center yourself and unwind. I also love enjoying some good conversation at a new winery or brewery, and Fresno has that as well!
