
Cynthia Cortez
Cynthia Cortez joined UCSF Fresno in September 2012 and currently serves as the Research Coordinator for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. In this role, Cynthia supports all resident and faculty research efforts by facilitating investigative projects, monitoring resident compliance with research curriculum milestones, and organizing the department’s annual Research Day. She also contributes to multi-disciplinary projects and grant initiatives. Additionally, Cynthia oversees research volunteers and supports faculty mentors working with students from UCSF Fresno’s pipeline programs, including the Doctors Academy and the Summer Biomedical Internship.
Originally from Fresno, Cynthia returned to her hometown after earning a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Health Policy from Harvard University. She also holds a Health Professions Certificate from UC Berkeley Extension.
