Why Fresno?
I grew up in India, but I moved to Central Valley (Caruthers, California) when I was in high school. I feel honored and privileged to be returning home to complete my residency training. Fresno is remarkably diverse and offers easy access to many adventurous day trips to the coast or mountains. While doing an EM elective in Fresno during third year of medical school and a sub-I during fourth year, I was blown away by the competency of residents and the grace with which they tackled social determinants of health to provide inclusive and comprehensive care. I wanted to be like them and I knew this was THE place to train. The disease pathology and patient diversity here are unmatched. I am thrilled to return home for residency and looking forward to learn with and from our humble patient population.
