Steven Stoltz, M.D., FACP, received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed his internal medicine residency program and chief resident year at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Fresno.

Dr. Stoltz joined the faculty of UCSF Fresno in 1998 following residency and is a Clinical Professor of Medicine specializing in hospital medicine. He is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He has a focused interest in medical education, clinical reasoning, global health and curriculum development. He was previously the division chief for hospital medicine and the director of undergraduate medical education for the Department of Medicine in Fresno.

Dr. Stoltz was a participant in the Teaching Scholars Program at UCSF and was a Harvard Macy Scholar as part of Harvard Macy Institute’s Program for Educators in the Health Professions. He has been a physician volunteer in many parts of the world and encourages other physicians and residents to participate. He is an avid cyclist, pianist and reader and lives in Fresno with his wife of 30+ years.
