Fresno – Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the U.S. About one in three women will die from heart disease. During American Heart Month in February, to increase awareness of heart health, the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program will hold a free Women’s Heart Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the UCSF Fresno Center for Medical Education and Research at 155 N. Fresno Street. Parking will be available in the UCSF Fresno parking lot with access off of Illinois and Fresno streets.
Expert faculty physicians at UCSF Fresno will speak to the following:
- “Women and Heart Disease” by Teresa Daniele, MD, FACC, Chief of Cardiology at UCSF Fresno; Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCSF Fresno; and Medical Director of the Women’s Center for Cardiovascular Health at Community Regional Medical Center
- “Cardiac Arrhythmia” by Chandrasekar Palaniswamy, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCSF Fresno and a cardiac electrophysiologist
- “Sleep and Your Heart” by Lynn Keenan, MD, Program Director of the UCSF Fresno Sleep Medicine Fellowship and Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCSF Fresno
Free, 30‐minute health screenings, including blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index, cholesterol and glucose readings will be offered as well as instruction on aging strong through exercise.
