UCSF Fresno Educates Women on Heart Health for Six Years in a Row with Free Event

FRESNO – Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. To help increase awareness and improve heart health among women, UCSF Fresno will hold the Sixth Annual Women’s Heart Fair, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7, at  UCSF Fresno, located at 155 N. Fresno St. in downtown Fresno. This event is free and open to the public. Women of all ages are invited to attend, but this year’s Heart Fair has reached maximum capacity and registration is no longer available. More than 250 women registered for the event.

“The sad reality is one in three women will die from cardiovascular disease,” said Teresa Daniele, MD, FACC, chief of cardiology at UCSF Fresno. “Our goal is to share easy-to-understand information in a relaxed, fun environment and provide health screenings that help women take control of their heart health. The goal of the women’s heart fair is to prevent heart disease in women and enhance management of it.”
