Why did you choose OBGYN?
I majored in gender/feminist studies in college and focused on women’s health while completing a master’s degree in global health. I entered medical school planning to do OBGYN and I never wavered. We have the privilege of caring for women in their teens to their 90’s. I appreciate the mix of surgery, primary care, and health policy advocacy. I am passionate about family planning and working to provide comprehensive reproductive healthcare for all women.

Why do OBGYN at UCSF Fresno?
The high volume and high acuity of patients. Community Regional Medical Center takes transfers from 15 local hospitals and is the only level I trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. I wanted a program where I would get to see and do it all and that is exactly what I am going to get at UCSF Fresno! We work very hard but the experience will make us into not only competent, but confident physicians. I feel incredibly grateful to have joined such an incredible team of people. As a small program, we are a tight-knit group who support each other both in and outside the hospital.

Hobbies/Facts/Interest
I enjoy reading historical fiction, traveling, skiing, and eating baked goods (especially anything with rainbow sprinkles). My husband and I love to escape to Russian River Valley for a day of wine tasting. I have a 15-pound Maine Coon rescue cat named Lizzie, after Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to obtain an M.D. Her favorite activities include frequent naps, Netflix marathons, and providing moral support while I study.
