Renee Kinman, M.D., Ph.D., MA.Ed. is currently board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. She is a graduate of Case Western Reserve Medical School where she completed a dual residency in pediatrics and internal medicine. She has a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Southern California, where her research focused on transendothelial insulin transport utilizing an in vivo model. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and a Master's degree in Education (Curriculum Design & Instruction option) from California State University, Fresno where her studies focused on educational technology and the use of inter-professional community collaborations to improve community health.

Renee Kinman, M.D., Ph.D., is currently a Clinical Professor in the UCSF Fresno Department of Pediatrics where she is Medical Director of Pediatric Endocrinology, having initiated this department in 2016. She became a member of the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators in 2012, and has received many awards and honors including the Valley Children's Hospital Champion in the Community Award, Resident Teaching Awards, and the awarding of the Fresno Compact Business Award to UCSF Fresno due to her extensive community involvement. She was instrumental in the formation of the Fresno County Health Youths Corps, which arose as a collaborative effort between the UCSF Fresno Department of Pediatrics, the Fresno County Department of Public Health, and the Fresno County Office of Education. Her most recent effort is the creation of Kidz MedEd, a grassroots collaboration that has provided underrepresented high school and college students with an opportunity to gain insight into the medical field, improve their digital literacy skills, and obtain medical knowledge and mentorship from healthcare professionals while simultaneously empowering them to act as healthcare champions within their local communities.

In her free time, Renee Kinman, M.D., Ph.D., enjoys figure skating, is a gold medalist in the United States Figure Skating Association, teaches skating school in her local ice rink, and is completing her gold medal in ice dance.
