Hobbies, Fun Facts, and Interests:
I definitely enjoy my time outdoors after living in an area with freezing winters, whether it’s
hiking, golfing, tennis, or skiing. That being said, don’t judge me when I sit for hours playing
video games or complete paint-by-numbers in the comfort of my home. I love the occasional 3–
4-hour board game because enjoyment is derived not from winning but from my opponent’s
suffering. I can clean/cook live Dungeness crab and like eating diverse foods, just don’t ever,
ever recommend Italian to me.
Why Fresno?
It’s clear from the way the residents and faculty interact with interviewees and each other that
there is a genuine interest in building a community with a similar feeling to family. Everyone is
supportive, driven, and a blast to hang out with. There is a legitimate focus on well-being upheld
not by the words on a wellness PowerPoint but by the everyday actions of senior residents and
the administration. I’m incredibly satisfied to be here and start the next chapter of my life.
