The Summer Biomedical Research Internship class of 2018 while touring through labs and the various campuses of UCSF.Educational pathway programs like the Latino Center for Medical Education and Research’s Doctors Academies and UCSF Fresno’s Summer Biomedical Research Internship program prepare Valley junior and high school students for careers in health care.

The Summer Biomedical Research Internship program matches high school students with faculty members to work on research projects that enhance their understanding of biomedical sciences. Your gift will help ensure that students can continue participating in these programs.

The Junior Doctors Academy and the Doctors Academy are extended academic-enrichment programs to encourage students’ attraction to and confidence in being able to attend college, preferably in the field of a health related profession. These programs’ increase the students’ academic preparedness and the quantity of underrepresented minorities in health professions schools.
