Why did you choose OBGYN?
I chose OBGYN because it combines the breadth of medical and surgical care with advocacy and the opportunity to form meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. Growing up in an immigrant family, I also saw the barriers many women, especially those from underserved communities, face in accessing reproductive care. It motivated me to meet patients where they are and create a safe space where they feel empowered to make informed decisions about their care.

Why do OBGYN at UCSF Fresno?
I was looking for a program where I could care for a diverse, underserved population and receive strong clinical training through significant exposure to high-risk, complex cases within a supportive academic environment. After doing an MFM sub-I at UCSF Fresno and interacting with the residents and faculty, it was clear that I would find all of that and more here! As a Latina I was especially drawn to the opportunity to serve the Central Valley's predominantly Latina patient population. Having grown up in Southern California with family in the Central Valley, it felt incredibly meaningful to give back to the communities that first inspired my path in medicine.

Hobbies/Facts/Interest
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and before medical school, I spent 16 years dancing ballet folklorico competitively. I also played the flute and piccolo in my school band and a youth orchestra that toured internationally. These days, I enjoy spending my free time at live music events and dancing, discovering new coffee shops, cosplaying, and playing both board and video games.
