Patient Care

UCSF Fresno is focused on improving health through teaching, patient care, research and community partnerships. As a graduate medical education and regional campus of the UCSF School of Medicine, UCSF Fresno carries out its training and patient care charges through a network of affiliated partners. Medical residents, fellows and students work and train in a variety of primary training sites with an impressive list of specialists at major hospitals, health agencies and programs, clinics and physicians’ offices.

With the only Level 1 trauma center between Sacramento and Los Angeles, a regional burn center, acute care hospitals and numerous non-hospital programs, Fresno is the center of health care in Central California.

Faculty physicians at UCSF Fresno and residents and fellows conduct more than 500,000 patient visits at clinical partner sites each year. Care is provided for a broad spectrum of specialties, sub-specialties and conditions ranging from cancer, cardiology and congestive heart failure and cystic fibrosis to name a few.

About 300 specialty and sub-specialty physicians hold core faculty appointments with the UCSF School of Medicine at the UCSF Fresno regional campus and provide UCSF care in Fresno and the central San Joaquin Valley.
